"God's Not Dead: In God We Trust" is the 5th movie in the faith-based GOD'S NOT DEAD franchise.

Synopsis: "In God We Trust" is set amid political and spiritual turmoil. When an incumbent unexpectedly dies weeks before an election, Reverend David Hill (David A.R. White) is persuaded to run for Congress. Battling against Peter Kane (Ray Wise), who aims to erase religion from policy, David's fight becomes a beacon of hope and optimism for people seeking moral leadership in a divided world.

The film stars David A. R. White, Isaiah Washington, Dean Cain, Samaire Armstrong, Ray Wise, Scott Baio, Charlene Tilton, with guest appearances by Governor Mike Huckabee and Newsboys, plus Kevin Downes, Brad Heller, and Paul Kwo. My Review: I enjoyed it. Using the same premise as the previous 4 movies, this story can be ripped from current headlines. The movie is more 'good vs bad' than reality, but the makers know their core audience. Not everyone is going to like or agree with the story being told but many will find it encouraging and inspirational. "In God We Trust" takes a serious story, but tells it with touches of comedy that I find appealing. I also like seeing some of the same characters as well as the introduction of new ones. It's not a documentary on American politics, but it opens the door to a conversation that we should be having, especially among Christians. How involved should we be in choosing our leaders? Should Christians stay out of politics? It's a question we must ask ourselves. Do you believe your voice and values should be heard?

MY REVIEW: I have seen the first 5 episodes of County Rescue and I really enjoyed it. The actors I am familiar with gave their usual top-notch performances, and I was equally as pleased with those new to me. Of course there are dramatic moments---this is a series about EMTs. But there was also humor, quirky characters and traits, and a compelling storyline. I am looking forward to seeing to seeing more episodes in the future! Be sure to check it out for yourself! I recommend COUNTY RESCUE.

MY REVIEW: My Christmas Hero, written by Jim Head and directed by Martin Wood, and starring Candace Cameron Bure and Gabriel Hogan, is the story of an army reserve doctor (Bure) who tracks down her family’s military history with the help of a new romance (Hogan). This is a very heartwarming movie that is not only faith-based, but also recognizes and pays tribute to our military veterans and to the time-honored tradition of providing for the needs of all who have served or are currently serving. With Christmas, Faith, Family, Veterans, Helping Others, Traditions, Loyalty, and Romance...there is something for everybody! Personally, I loved all of it!!

 My Review: BIRTHRIGHT OUTLAW is a wonderful movie about life on the frontier, family loyalty, and faith. The film starts with a humorous interaction between Pastor Jeremiah Jacobs and his wife Martha. They, along with their teen-aged daughter Hope, appear to be a perfect family. However, when Hope is kidnapped, we learn that Martha has a secret past. Will her loyalty to Jeremiah and faith in God waver when she learns her outlaw father (Jeff Fahey) has Hope and demands his daughter return to her old life.

The movie has very strong characters, and it's always great to see strong, capable women in roles. Themes of forgiveness, second chances, hope, faith despite circumstances, and trusting God when chaos has turned your life upside down. I love the actors in "Birthright Outlaw" and I've never seen an Aaron Burns film I didn't enjoy. I recognize several names in the crew who also make outstanding films. There are several twists and turns along the way with each step bringing the characters to a firmer foundation. I highly recommend it.

Divine Influencer

 When an entitled influencer (Lara Silva) loses everything, she must humbly trust God
to understand what the meaning of true influence is. Desperate, she takes a job at a homeless shelter only so she has a place to lay her head and quickly realizes the joy and purpose that comes from serving others.

“Divine Influencer” is such a timely movie as the world of social media expands at a rapid pace. The message of this film is a reflection on how easy it is to live for the likes, the shares and the comments instead of living our lives for God or to serve others.

My Review: Both a quirky comedy and a heart-warming message on what is most important, Divine Influencer is a charming movie that is relevant to today's social media mania and how easily we can lose our focus. Liv (Silva) has lost her job, her home, allowance from her wealthy parents...and her IG Followers!! Then she runs into Ryan (Jason Burkey) who runs a local homeless shelter. 

 

When the job of women's RA at the shelter suddenly becomes available, Olivia grabs the chance to have a place to live. Over time, she grows to love the people and find satisfaction with her job.

I loved Stephanie Parker in the role of Karla! And the gruff but compassionate Flora (Rebecca Koon) was perfect in the role and a delight to watch. The entire cast was outstanding. The film was well-written (Susannah Eldridge, Claire Yorita Lee, and Suzanne Niles) and directed (Shari Rigby).
