The Story of Everything

After a successful nationwide theatrical run that sparked conversation across faith, science, and culture, The Story of Everything is now available to purchase on Amazon Prime Video!

The Story of Everything is a cinematic exploration of the cosmos that reveals the hidden hand behind our universe. From the precise laws that govern the stars to the intricate patterns found in every living cell, the film traces evidence of intentional design throughout nature. Whether examining distant star-forming clouds or the spiral structure of DNA, we discover a consistent signature woven into the fabric of existence.

Inspired by Stephen C. Meyer’s bestselling book Return of the God Hypothesis, the cinematic documentary invites audiences to explore one of humanity’s oldest—and most consequential—questions: Does the evidence point to a universe shaped solely by blind chance, or is there evidence of purpose and design?

You can now BUY "The Story of Everything" at this LINK to Amazon Prime Video!

There are also Church and Homeschool resources available to use with the film. They can be found on the website: Resources.

My Review: This is a very well-made documentary that literally goes back to "In the Beginning" in its search for truth on how our universe was created. There were experts in the field who don't always agree, but whose theories were presented, fairly (in my opinion). I wasn't as well informed on what each scientist believed, but I did know the names of all mentioned, so the film didn't go with one-sided beliefs or obscure people to prove a point. John Lennox is a favorite of mine, so I was glad to see him involved.

There was too much info for me to soak in with just one viewing (I studied more literature than science in school. 😊), but I prefer too much info over too little. This would be an excellent film for people who are homeschooling teenagers. Young children are not going to understand it all, but a high school student should get a lot out of the film. I will give it 4 stars because it did drag at times (for me)...and because I can't give it 4.5 stars. I do recommend the film.

The Sacred Thread

The Sacred Thread is a cinematic documentary series exploring the Lord’s Prayer through the historical, cultural, geographical, and literary world in which Jesus first spoke it. Hosted by Brad Gray and featuring insights from scholars including N.T. Wright, the series takes viewers across biblical landscapes to uncover the deeper meaning and context behind one of the most well-known prayers in Scripture.

Through cinematic storytelling and accessible scholarship, the series invites audiences to see Scripture with fresh eyes and rediscover the richness, depth, and relevance of the Biblical text. (angel.com)

The Lord's Prayer is what Jesus taught His disciples when asked to teach them how to pray (Matthew 6:9-13 and Luke 11:2-4). The Sacred Thread takes viewers deep into the historical and cultural context of Scripture, helping audiences experience the Lord’s Prayer the way Jesus’ original audience would have heard it.

Now streaming on Angel, this is not just another Bible study. It’s a cinematic journey through the land, history, language, and deeper meaning of one of the most important prayers ever spoken.

Trailer:

Angel continues to create thoughtful, high-quality series that make Scripture feel alive, relevant, and deeply personal. "The Sacred Thread" combines cinematic storytelling, Biblical scholarship, historical context, and spiritual insight in a way that feels engaging, accessible, and emotionally meaningful. It’s thoughtful, visually compelling, and spiritually grounding without feeling academic or overwhelming. Whether for personal study or with a group, this brings a deeper understanding of The Lord's Prayer.

Stream to Watch on Angel now! You can also use this link to join Angel Guild.

My Review: Most Christians know The Lord's Prayer and can easily recite it. We're aware of the significance that this is the prayer Jesus used when His disciples asked Him to teach them how to pray. But, has it become something you say by rote? When did you really think about the words you are saying? Are you aware of the historical and cultural aspects of when Jesus walked on Earth? The 7 episodes of "The Sacred Thread" bring a greater understanding and will deepen your relationship with our Savior. This would be very useful for a 7 week Bible Study with others, or even by yourself. Knowing the context of Scripture makes a difference if you hope to truly understand. I also loved that there are several noted Biblical scholars included in each episode. Check it out on the Angel website at angel.com/shows/sacred-thread

The Amazing Crab Alley Revival

The year is 1897 and wealthy widow Lydia Culpepper is evaluating her mundane existence. For sixty-three years, she’s faithfully gone through the motions of fulfilling everyone else’s expectations for her life, but nothing she does is ever enough. She longs for something more.

When a young boy comes to her house in search of his missing coon dog, she gets her wish. She meets Emily Reed, a young finishing school instructor, and Opal Jackson, an Irish single mother, and the three women join together on a mission that turns the First Baptist Church on its head.

Suddenly, the town is in an uproar as lives are being changed. When Yellow Fever hits, it looks like their efforts may have been in vain, but the epidemic isn’t enough to thwart the fruits of the Crab Alley Revival.

My Review: The Amazing Crab Alley Revival by Sharon Wilharm has become my favorite book for the 2020s! The characters are so richly developed that I feel like they are people I know. It was easy to become engrossed in what was happening in their lives and care about what happened to them. I could identify more with Lydia since I am an older woman, often reflecting on what I am still able to do for God. But, I also felt a connection to Opal and Emily. The rest of the characters were more than just background, especially the children. As their lives are interwoven, the reader can visualize each person and see the good, bad, concern, and indifference. Some are well-meaning, but blind to the needs around them. The Crab Alley children, especially Sam, are filled with an eagerness that made me smile. This is definitely a 5 star book, especially for fans of historical fiction. While I hated for the book to end because I want to know what happens next with these people, it was also a satisfying ending. I know Sharon's love of history and details, eagerly look forward to her next book!

The Amazing Crab Alley Revival will be available hard copy and ebook on July 7, 2026.

Just One More review

JUST ONE MORE (2026) follows Jess (Emma Filley), a recovering addict struggling with shame, doubt, and the weight of her past, whose life unexpectedly collides with Charles (Lance E Nichols), a dying man praying that God would use him “just one more” time. As their stories intertwine, Jess begins to discover forgiveness, healing, and the hope to fight for a future beyond addiction.

This is an emotional, character-driven story about redemption, perseverance, and the life-changing impact one person can have on another. At its heart, Just One More is about choosing hope one more time, even when life feels impossible.

This is the kind of movie that stays with audiences long after the credits roll, leaving them encouraged, reflective, and inspired. Directed by Kaleb Michael Cook and Kyler David Cook, other actors include Christian McCartney (Xavier), Lily Brody (Raya) and Todd Terry as Dr. Henley.

KEY THEMES:

*Redemption - Nobody is beyond another chance.

*Perseverance - Strength is often found in refusing to quit.

*Hope - Even in difficult seasons, there's a reason to keep going.

*Family & Relationships - Healing, reconciliation, and the people who stand beside us matter.

Just One More is streaming on Angel:

MY REVIEW: "Just One More" is more than just a film about addiction; it is a film about hope, encouragement, and getting another chance when you stumble. Surrounded by people who care about you, even when you are not always loveable, can be a major impact on a person trying to break free. I loved the character of Charles, a man nearing the end of his life, but still desiring to reach others for Christ. Simply sitting on his lawn with a sign asking people to stop and pray was all he had left to do, but he was making a difference. The additions of Xavier and Raya brought peers for Jess to lean on and examples of love for others with their relationship with Charles. The continuing struggles were realistic, as was the hope for the future by the end. It is a movie worth watching.

A Friend in Need...

Have you ever heard an idiom or common expression that made no sense to you at first?

For me, it was "A Friend in Need is a Friend Indeed." I first read it when I was 8 years old. I simply couldn't understand why a friend who needed something was more important than a friend who didn't need anything.

My solution was... when someone needs something, I can try to help! It makes my friend happy & makes Jesus happy! 🙂 I was also a Brownie Girl Scout and part of our pledge was to "help others." So, naturally, a friend who needed help gave me the chance to be helpful & make everyone happy!! 😁

I won't admit to how many YEARS it took before the true meaning occurred to me 😉 Be thankful for the people who are loyal to you when you are in need. Learning Gratitude & Loyalty is as important as Helping Others. But I still kinda like my original interpretation, too.

MY REVIEW of Explorer Bible Dictionary for Kids: The CSB Explorer Bible Dictionary is one of the most exciting books I have read for helping kids study the Bible. The bright, colorful pages are inviting to read but the information is what will hold their attention. Hundreds of common Bible terms are paired with an explanation and Scripture references to match. The charts and maps included as an aid to understand the Bible are outstanding. I would have loved this resource when I was a child.

This book is perfect for church, Sunday schools, homeschool, Bible studies, or for a personal reference library. Families who study the Bible together will certainly use this while teaching their children. I have several great-grandkids in elementary school, and this will be useful when questions arise to keep things at their level.

I highly recommend this dictionary for the children in your life. It will be an excellent resource for additional study while kids are on their summer break.

Prophecy's Heir review

Prophecy’s Heirs, the first book in the Arualian Archives series by Emily G. Watson, introduces us to Crown Prince Walter, Princess Airdella, and Princess Amy. Due to turmoil in their country, they are sent to stay with retired knight, Sir Dorrian. Away from a life of luxury and privilege, the teens and younger sister, Amy, begin learning to do things for themselves, including skills used for knights. This leads to a series of adventures and a quest to protect their kingdom from an evil enemy and restore their father’s health.

Watching the kids grow as a tighter family unit as they learn more skills and protect one another is an excellent lesson for the age group intended for this series. As they lean more on one another, they also learn to differentiate between friends and foes along the way. When things fall apart, they each learn the ability to reason as they search for solutions. I also liked the addition of Aaron to the group of youngsters. He is also on a quest and has additional skills to round out the group.

For me, the book had times that I couldn’t put it down, but also chapters where I would lose interest. I am not the target audience, so tweens and teens who love fantasy and exploring new worlds should love the series. It would also be great for homeschoolers or families who enjoy reading books together.

Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of Prophecy’s Heirs from the author. Opinions are my own.

"He Calls Me Daughter" is Coming to Angel

He Calls Me Daughter is a deeply personal and emotionally powerful film that explores what it means to carry a father wound and what it takes to heal from it.

Watch He Calls Me Daughter now on Angel and experience stories of healing, identity, and restoration in the lives of several women.

Through raw storytelling and spiritual insight, the film reveals how unmet needs from an earthly father can shape identity, relationships, and self-worth. But it also offers a path forward. One rooted in the love of a Heavenly Father who restores, redeems, and redefines what it means to be a daughter.

Directed by Rick Altizer (Show Me the Father, Chonda Pierce: Laughing in the Dark), this film features Chonda Pierce, Meg Meeker, Alex Kendrick, BJ Arnett, and more. Written by Alitzer and Tracy Robinson.

If your relationship, or lack of one, with your father has damaged you in any way, this is a film that will have a story you feel connected to and allow you to start healing. A "father wound" with your earthly father can also make an impact with your relationship with your Heavenly Father. Ranging from resentment or distrust to feeling you will never be good enough to please Him, you may recognize a pattern.

As each woman shares her story, honesty and hope shine through the darkness as a beacon leading you a better place. It's not a preachy film, but is faith-inspired. Don't think of this as only a film for females, though. Men are often pushed aside in their children's lives except for their role as physical provider. They need to know how important they are physically, emotionally, and spiritually. "Daddy" is a vital role in the life of a daughter (or son).

He Calls Me Daughter is the kind of film that resonates deeply but is often overlooked by traditional platforms. Angel provides a home for stories that go beyond entertainment and into transformation when stories like this are seen, shared, and experienced by the people who need them most.

Be sure to watch He Calls Me Daughter on Angel to experience a story of healing, identity, and restoration.

Next, Join the Angel Guild to support more stories that bring hope, healing, and truth to the screen. Their collection of series and movies not only bring entertainment for the entire family, but also bring to life the stories that can impact you and transform your life!

And when one Blob is believed to be a galactic “Chosen One,” things go from bad... to bonkers.

The Blobs: Volume Two releases April 7th everywhere books are sold - order your copy today! BUY LINK

MY REVIEW: Due to a computer glitch, the Blobs in Escape Pod #526 landed on a planet whose inhabitants are called "Glitchies." However their escape to their new home planet, Planet Splotch, does not free them from the Glitchies who are in hot pursuit to get back the Doomsickles that Wilby had taken. Planet Splotch and the Blobs who have settled there are all in danger from King Neptune, Lord Zord, and the evil Glitchies.

Volume 2 has the same high level of adventure, humor, excitement, and energy as Vol 1. Clean and wholesome, The Blobs are great entertainment for 3rd graders and up. Loyal friendships are developed and some tough decisions have to made when a Blob is faced with temptation or putting personal wants over the needs of the group.

Fans of "Diary of a Wimpy Kid," "Dog Man," and "Captain Underpants" will enjoy these books!

The Blobs - Volume 1 - Crash Landing

The Blobs Volume 1: Crash Land!

A giant meteor was headed straight to the home planet of the Blobs. The story begins as the Blobs continue to move in groups to settle in their new planet. Suddenly, weeks before expected the Warning Announces an immediate Evacuation!

There is a malfunction with Escape Pod #526, leaving the 5 passengers Cadetski, Chubs, Zilma, Goosebob, and Wilby to CRASH LAND on a planet occupied by the evil Glitchies! The adventure kicks into overdrive as the 5 Blobs try to break free and get to their new planet with the rest of the Blobites.

Volume 1 launches readers into a universe where disaster and discovery collide. Written by Justin Stuart, and illustrated by Rick Douglas, this series masterfully weaves heart-pounding action with genuine laughs, creating a story that resonates with both established JStu fans and new readers. As our heroes navigate their way through an unknown world, they discover that sometimes the biggest adventures reveal the most important truths about friendship, courage, and finding your place in the universe.

MY REVIEW: If you are looking for a fun book filled with excitement, danger, quirky characters, loyalty, the meaning of friendship, and wholesome entertainment for a child 8 years old and up, look no further than "The Blobs." It's not always easy to find suitable material for kids to read, and frankly, it's vital to have a book that will hold a child's attention, and perhaps inspire their imagination and creativity. Some of the situations these five Blobs got themselves into also demonstrated character-building, thinking outside of the box, and developing friendships with others. There is enough danger to build suspense, plus comical moments that made me laugh. Be sure to check this out!

REVIEW: I have been a fan of Rick Altizer's previous documentaries, and my expectations were fully met with "He Calls Me Daughter." Chonda Pierce (Comedian), BJ Arnett (Actress), Meg Meeker (pediatrician/author), Lynsi Snyder (In N Out President), and other women share their stories of "father wounds" in their lives and the healing journey to God as their father. Each one had a different relationship with their earthly father, but their reactions to the emotional pain also impacted how they reacted to others in their lives. Alex Kendrick also spoke on the importance of how he treats his daughters.

This is a wonderful film for both men and women, not only for helping women heal from the wounds inflicted by fathers, but also to help men realize how important they are in raising children. I have never known a child who did want love and approval from both parents, but men are too often considered to be less important.

He Calls Me Daughter is only scheduled to be in theaters March 17th and March 18th, so be sure you reserve your seats now!

Order your copy today wherever books and Bibles are sold or visit csbwomensstudybible.com to learn more!

My Review: I love Study Bibles and the Christian Standard Bible (CSB) is one of my favorite versions of the Holy Bible, so I am extra excited to have the opportunity o review the CSB Women's Study Bible! The Bible I received to review is a hardcover with a beautiful floral print. It's a bit heavy, but perfect for serious study; the pages will stay open as you make notes in a journal or whatever you prefer. A table or desk selected for regular Bible Study would be wonderful for this Bible, a notebook/journal, and any other learning tools you need.

The inside of the Bible is even better than the outside! Of course, the Scripture, both Old and New Testaments are the most important, but I do love the maps, charts, photos, biographies, study notes, timelines, concordance, features, and more. It has a 9.5 point text that is comfortable to read.

My personal disappointments are that this Bible is not Red Letter text and that the margins are too small for writing notes. But, there are a ton of notes already provided, and you can use colored pencils or highlighters to mark a verse or passage that has a special meaning for you. Overall, I highly recommend this Bible.
