Memorial Day

[πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ️MEMORIAL DAY] In honor & memory of those who gave their lives during military service to our country. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

[FIRE UP THE GRILL!] Planning a barbecue for this Memorial Day? Go with the basics of hamburgers and hot dogs or search for the latest cookout-friendly recipes for grilled starters, patriotic drinks and desserts to kick off the unofficial start of Summer! 🌞

Memorial Day can be a dichotomy. A day of mourning and remembrance of those who lost their lives in the service of our country is starkly different from a 3-day weekend filled with fun, parties, pools, shopping, and the frivolous. that brings on the unofficial start to Summer. Mourning vs Merriment.

To me, though, it's not difficult to combine all that make this holiday special. We should always give honor those who gave their lives to protect and defend our freedom and rights. In the past, many families spent Memorial Day bringing flowers and cleaning the graves of loved ones. It took several hours of work and quite often meant sharing a meal while there. The sense of community with family and friends paying respect to the dead, sharing memories and meals was also a means of support in grief.

Each Memorial Day be sure to remember those who sacrificed their lives, but including a picnic with family and friends to celebrate life and freedom is not meant to dishonor the memory and sacrifice of those men and women. We Americans live in the land of the free because of the brave who sacrificed their own lives. Take time to remember those who died and celebrate the gift they offered their fellow citizens with family, friends, neighbors. Their lives made a tremendous impact. #MemorialDay

Eating With the Enemy trailer

The Last Supper has been shrouded in mystery for nearly two thousand years, but new findings now unveil a lost warning from that unprecedented night; revealing why it was critical for Jesus to leave his disciples with a new commandment mere hours before His crucifixion.

But to understand why the events of the Last Supper are so critical in these Last Days, you must experience what truly happened for yourself as a witness among the disciples that very night! Eating with the Enemy is narrated by Kevin Sorbo and features several actors from The Chosen. Director/writer/producer Brent Miller Jr. has a theological background founded in eschatological apologetics.

Watch the trailer below, and leave a comment on YouTube. Plus follow Ingenuity Films on Facebook and Instagram for updates, including official release date.

GIVEAWAY: One person will win Digital Codes for Before the Wrath and The Coming Convergence. The deadline to enter is June 3, 2022. Giveaway is limited to US winners only.

“Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me And lead me in the way everlasting.” - Psalm 139:23-24

A note from the writer and director, Brent Miller Jr.:

Eating with the Enemy is a reference to Judas Iscariot who ate with Jesus at the Last Supper only to betray Him that very night and picks up where Before the Wrath (one of the top selling Christian films of 2020) left off! I would say that if “Wrath” revealed eye-opening evidence regarding why Jesus will return at the end of days, then “Enemy” implores you and your loved ones to be prepared for when He does! Eating with the Enemy will not only rekindle your hope and love for Jesus Christ, but is a film intended to reach the hearts of the lost like no other before it.

Family Camp

Family Camp is a Christian family comedy that’s fun

for the whole family! See it in theaters beginning May 13th!

The Skit Guys have been performing live and creating mini-movies for churches, events and youth groups for years. Their initial venture into feature films is sure to please their fans... plus bring in new fans. Invite your church, small group, etc. to have a movie night!! BUY GROUP TICKETS

SYNOPSIS: When their pastor encourages the congregation to sign-up for a week away at family camp, Grace (Leigh-Allyn Baker) believes she’s found the perfect cure for her imperfect clan—even if they’d all rather be anywhere but at rustic Camp Katokwah.

The fantastic Family Camp cast includes The Skit GuysTommy Woodard and Eddie James —along with Leigh-Allyn Baker, Gigi Orsillo, Robert "πŸπŸ‘‘"
Amaya, Cece Kelly, Mark Christopher Lawrence, and Heather Land. Writer/Director Brian Cates and writer Rene Gutterridge are also to be commended for this fun film.

MY REVIEW: I don't want to give away any spoilers, but I believe it's safe to say that this is a very funny film... but also with a message that will touch hearts. I have attended church camp a few times, but never as a family. I now wish I had been given that opportunity, but I had the fun of watching this film and the adventures of the Ackerman and Sanders families.
The Skit Guys, Tommy and Eddie, are hilarious as competitors wanting to one-up each other. I was also happy to see Gigi Orsillo as Eddie's wife; Gigi was "Miss Adams" in CARMAN's Great God video. But a surprise for The Chosen fans is the appearance of Brandon Potter in a small, but very amusing role.

Family Camp opened TODAY in many locations. Choose your desired Date/Time and BUY TICKETS IN ADVANCE!

GIVEAWAY: Win a $10 Amazon Gift card!! Use #FamilyCampMovieMIN in a comment under a review post to be entered. The deadline to enter is May 20, 2022.

Lies, Disinformation, & Inciting Riots

I have not understood the out-of-control rage over the leaked SCOTUS docs. But I just read this tweet: "Senator Roy Blunt's daughter, Amy Blunt Mosby, has an ectopic pregnancy. It is now illegal for her to receive an abortion even if the fetus is on the outside of her uterus. What' she going to do?" [Paul Cogan]

I am very pro-life, but caring for an ectopic pregnancy is an exception 100% of the time. I don't know of anyone who does not consider this an emergency that requires saving the life of the mom as a priority. Roe has NOT been overturned (yet), but when/if it occurs, it will not make all abortion illegal; individual states can make their own laws. Yet, no one is going to demand a woman die because of an ectopic pregnancy!

Nor will it be illegal, as many on the thread claim, for someone to travel to another state to get an abortion. Again, keep in mind, that saving the life of the mother is always legal. There are valid reasons for ending a pregnancy. Inconvenience is not an acceptable reason to end an innocent life.

Unfortunately, many prefer slaughter over numerous forms of birth control. Saline solutions and dismemberment are cruel punishment for a tiny, growing human to endure. Yet some women do this to multiple children they conceived.

Yes, I believe Life begins at conception. As a Christian, I have a Biblical worldview that says,
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart. - Jeremiah 1:5 and
Psalm 139:13-16 -
For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be.

I can sympathize while still disagreeing with some people's opinions and actions. People whom I love dearly have had abortions for reasons they felt were valid. I disagree, but I still love them. I struggle more with people who use abortion as birth control multiple times--- those who even claim to be proud of what they did. Abortion is not health care (another person is being put to death), it's not reproductive rights (it's stopping reproduction) and it's certainly not YOUR body being sacrificed (the baby has its own DNA, blood type, fingerprints, etc.). It is cruel and people have become very desensitized about human life since it became legal in 1973.

But a respecter of Life goes beyond the desire to keep a child in the womb safe. It certainly includes wanting humans safe, fed, warm (or cool), and sheltered from the womb to the tomb. However, it also means not stirring the rage of people by flat out lying to them and turning them against people for the wrong reasons. Lives are being threatened because people are foolishly listening to the lies of instigators. It is not "Free Speech" and "Peaceful Protests" when it's a deliberate plan to threaten, intimidate, and frighten people who share a different viewpoint, especially the lives of those who are in a position to make legal and moral decisions. Those who are participating should be prosecuted for their threats to others. It's time to wake up to the harm being done.

As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things. - Ecclesiastes 11:5
