Beyond the Farthest Star is a faith-based independent film starring Renée O’Connor, Todd Terry and Barry Corbin, along with Billy McNamara, Andrew Prine, Cherami Leigh and Lou Beatty, Jr. The film’s storyline features a minister, once revered as “the next Billy Graham,” but now reduced to pastoring a small church in a sleepy Texas town and dealing with a rebellious daughter and a lukewarm marriage. When the town Nativity is burned by an outraged Senator, the media descends, and secrets are brought to the surface as Adam faces circumstances that force him to choose between regaining church super-stardom or restoring his fractured family. The movie touches on many of today's issues including:

• Separation of Church vs State
• Teen Self Abuse / Cutting
• Abortion / Sanctity of Life
• Priorities of Life - Leaving a Legacy
• The Importance of Marriage Vows

"Star" is a captivating “beauty from ashes” story of redemption that inspired
a painting by famed artist, Thomas Kinkade, after he viewed a rough copy of the movie a few months prior to his death. His nephew, Zachary Thomas Kinkade, created a painting to complete the desire of his uncle to pay homage to the film. Crystal Lewis also reimagined her hit song, "Beauty for Ashes" and a novel based on the screenplay was written by best-selling authors, Bodie and Brock Thoene. The film was selected to be shown at the recent Values Voter Summit, and even the MPAA (the board that gives movies their ratings) representative called BTFS "the best faith-based film I have seen."

WHY do you have to Reserve Your Tickets before October 30th. These screenings are special events and the theaters expect to have a minimum number of people there to fill the seats. Once a screening is guaranteed, tickets will be available (Online Only) until time for the show to start. We could even be upgraded to a larger room. However, if you wait until the last minute---that may no longer be an option.

This film provides a perfect opportunity to have a discussion on a number of issues that impact our lives daily. It is not overly "preachy" but does point to the Hope we find in Christ. It is great for Youth groups, small groups, recovery groups and people who are struggling to find their way to a fulfilling life.

I Love My Neighbor campaign

The Link of Cullman County has a God-sized goal for 2014...and YOU can be a part of it!! They are already making major changes in the lives of many and have plans to do more in the next year. They have Big Plans, Big Dreams, and Big Opportunities for YOU to partner with them!

That's why they have launched this campaign called, "I Love My Neighbor." There is no better way to simply explain what they do on a daily basis. By joining in, you can help make a difference in the lives of your neighbors, friends, family, or even yourself. The needs are many and can seem overwhelming, but TOGETHER and with GOD, the impossible can be done. The Link needs a larger facility to be able to help others, and there are volunteer opportunities available for the many services they provide. Plus, efforts are being made to reach practical solutions to some obstacles people face like lack of transportation. Also, when we reach out our hand to help a neighbor, they are able to pass that blessing along. "Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their efforts. For if either falls, his companion can lift him up; but pity the one who falls without another to lift him up." - Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

We believe in Cullman. We want to embrace the past, present, and future traditions and values of our community. There are consistent opportunities for people to join together behind a cause to transform lives and improve the place where we live.

We believe in service. We want to serve those who serve others in our community and beyond. We believe that neighbors can help neighbors through the example of Jesus Christ. It is through his example that we can learn how to serve and love others.

General Information

We are working towards overcoming the barriers to our poor and vulnerable in Cullman County. We believe in offering a hand up and not just a hand out.

In doing so we believe that God wishes to use the body of Christ in Cullman to relationally love and support those who are in need. We are not one local church but many local churches serving together.

In that we have many roles for a volunteer to play: Encourager, Navigator, FInancial Counselor, Adult Literacy coach, English as a Second Language Instructor, Jobs for LIfe leader/team member, or a Wise Up Facilitator.

We also can always use people who can help us in the office to clean and with administrative tasks. We often have odd jobs that need to be done to upkeep our building like landscaping or other maintenance related items.

Hey, I am asking for your support. Some of you may have seen that I am a part of a new non-profit in Cullman, AL called The Link Of Cullman County. We are building community (partnering with others) with the main focus of breaking the cycle of poverty in Cullman County. We are doing what we believe God has given us a vision to do in way of implementing educational programs that will help people's lives be transformed and moved from a state of dependency to self-sufficiency. To make that happen, we need money to support us. The good news is that I am not asking you for cash...just to vote for us:
