A Thousand Tomorrows - Episode 2

From best-selling author Karen Kingsbury, only God knows how many tomorrows we have left. In the dangerous and competitive rodeo world, how will Cody and Ali make the most of their time together?

The latest AFFIRM Originals show, “Karen Kingsbury’s A Thousand Tomorrows,”
is a testament to love, devotion and making the most of every day. This 6 episode series focuses on Cody and Ali who find a rare, powerful love with an uncertain future. Main themes are redemption, forgiveness, devotion and transformation.

Watch the trailer and set a reminder to see the first two episodes
on Pure Flix, beginning Feb. 24th. LINK

MY REVIEW: As Ali’s health declines, her determination to keep
competing catches Cody’s eye. What will her stubbornness to pursue her dreams cost? When she discovers she needs a pulmonary transplant, her life as a competitive barrel racer is likely over.

Cody (Colin Ford) is falling more in love with Ali (Rose Reid), but is also facing personal struggles when his famous, but absent, father wants to to reconnect with his family. Cody is opposed, but his special needs brother, Carl Joseph (Cole Sibus) is excited. Cody rebonds with Carl Joseph and is preparing to protect his mom and brother, expecting his father to bail on the family once again.

Karen Kingsbury is well known for her books that draw the reader into the lives and feelings of her characters. No doubt that this series will have the same impact on viewers. With 2 episodes releasing on Feb 24th and a new episode for the next 4 Fridays, you will want to make sure you have a Pure Flix subscription.

TRAILER:

PHILLIP'S WISH was founded by a little boy who saw a need in the world and decided to do something about it. Phillip and his mom started a campaign to collect blankets to provide warmth to as many homeless people as they could.

Thanks to the help and support of others, Phillip’s Wish – that no one would be cold or uncared for- can become a reality. Please consider being a part of Phillip’s Wish and experience firsthand the words of Winston Churchill, “You make a living by what you get, but you make a life by what you give.”

REVIEW: Wonderful movie and knowing that it is based on a true story makes it even more special. A movement sparked in Fort Worth, Texas, many years ago is still alive and thriving and this film is an excellent inspiration for the viewer to reach out to "Phillip's Wish" or an organization in your area to make a difference in the lives of individuals to struggle to survive.

But, 5000 BLANKETS is not a promo for a cause. It is a story of a family's struggle with mental illness and how it affected their lives as individuals and as a family unit. Watching their struggle and how each person responded demonstrated the value of family, faith, and friends when hit by a major crises. It also put individual faces to those who are homeless. The story was not told in a manner meant to manipulate the viewer's emotions, but to give glimpses of reality from the POV of many. I thought the writers, director, and actors worked well to share a story, a slice of life, and to leave a message of hope.

LIVE+LOCAL is a new AFFIRM Originals sitcom streaming exclusively on Pure Flix. Starring executive producer Dave Coulier (Tommy Murphy) and Emily Pendergast (Tina Knott), get an inside look at the Christian local radio station K-HUGG. The staff is experiencing some strange transitions and power shifts at work, but the way they handle it with grace and comedy will be sure to leave you laughing and inspired.

You can sign up for Pure Flix and enjoy "Live+Local" and other great entertainment at PureFlix.com. Also scroll down to see how 1 reader can win a 3-month Pure Flix subscription! See the trailer below:

EPISODE 2 "Judge Knott" SYNOPSIS: The TNT (Tommy and Tina) Team are feeling the tension of the transition to a new Program Director Jerry (Pat Cashman) and a new Producer... a recently promoted intern named Lucy (Kendra Ann Sherrill). Tina (Emily Pendergast) is tired of being not being treated as Tommy's (Dave Coulier) equal.

When Tina's new segment, "Judge Not" is an immediate success, Tommy is jealous. Combined with Jerry's obvious preference of Tina, Tommy is struggling with the new changes from how 'things have always been' and having to accept, and even welcome adjustments and new people.

The
difference in styles are evident during their interview with Skillet's John Cooper interview: Tommy wants to ask the culture questions while Tina dives deep into faith.

Bible Verses for Episode 2

  • Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. – Psalm 27:14 (NIV)

  • Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. – Proverbs 3: 5-6 (NIV)

  • Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)

Going Home: The Request

Everyone has a calling from God and Charley’s purpose is to help people transition from this world to their forever home. This heartfelt series that will inspire you to think deeper about your relationships and how you can live well with the time we’re all blessed with. God gives everyone a calling – and for Charley, it’s to help families during one of the most difficult times of their lives.

“Going Home” is a new series that follows an inspiring team of nurses who help guide patients and loved ones on the ultimate journey – one of transition from this world to their forever home. It’s a race against time as the team must help their clients find peace and wrap up loose ends with compassion and dignity. The series, created and written by Dan Merchant, stars Cynthia Geary, Cozi Zuehlsdorff and Charisma Carpenter. Well-known guest stars include Vernon Davis, Tom Skerritt and Concetta Tomei, among others. Exclusively on PureFlix.com! Subscribe here!

EPISODE 6 'The Request' REVIEW: The final episode of Season 1 finds Charley (Cynthia Geary) making a "bucket list" field trip for Katherine (Charisma Carpenter) and Alec (Christopher Weihl), while Janey (Cozi Zuehlsdorff) continues to grow into her new job.

While "Going Home" episodes can be watched as stand-alones, this story line is spread out over the series when college best friends are reunited after many years of estrangement. Tensions, fear and anger intensify as it becomes apparent that Katherine's time on Earth is coming to an end. Charley is an award-winning Hospice nurse, but her personal connection with her dying friend causes her professional mask to slip from time-to-time. Tying up the loose ends of their friendship as well as final preparations for helping her family cope with her approaching death and living without her are realistically portrayed as Katherine's emotions include regrets, concern for her children, frustration... and even some gallows humor.

Of course, the emotions are also felt by the viewer as we react to both this fictional story, and personal experiences are also brought to mind. But this episode, and the series itself, is a comforting reminder of the Hope we have. I definitely would recommend "Going Home" as an engaging story that can be cathartic for some, but also has moments of humor, inspiration, comfort, and reminders of what is truly most important.

‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” – Revelation 21:4 (NIV)
