Samuel Allen, a 1960's rockstar, finds himself in jail after struggling
with years of anger and blame toward organized religion that has led him
down a road of rebellion. In a moment of divine intervention, the judge

speaks to local schools and churches about the dangers of drugs. Given a
second chance, he follows in his father's footsteps to become a
preacher, overcoming the influence of a powerful church leader with a
personal vendetta against his family.
SOUTHERN GOSPEL is

MY REVIEW:As Ali’s health declines, her determination to keep competing catches Cody’s eye. What will her stubbornness to pursue her dreams cost? When she discovers she needs a pulmonary transplant, her life as a competitive barrel racer is likely over.
Cody (Colin Ford) is falling more in love with Ali (Rose Reid), but is also facing personal struggles when his famous, but absent, father wants to to reconnect with his family. Cody is opposed, but his special needs brother, Carl Joseph (Cole Sibus) is excited. Cody rebonds with Carl Joseph and is preparing to protect his mom and brother, expecting his father to bail on the family once again.
Karen Kingsbury is well known for her books that draw the reader into the lives and feelings of her characters. No doubt that this series will have the same impact on viewers. The play is a mixture of a dramatic story of secrets and separations that touch the heart and the music and merriment give the play an entertainment value to delight audiences. However, with a running time of 3 hours, I wouldn't advise bringing children. There is an intermission, but it's just long enough to stretch your legs, have a restroom break and maybe refill snacks. This is better suited for grown-ups, maybe even a Girl's Night Out event.

It's February, love is in the air, and PureFlix has released a new rom-com that will warm your heart and make you laugh. “Heaven Sent” is a romantic comedy about finding love again later in life and rediscovering joy after loss. Themes include letting go of our children/grandchildren, choosing family over fame, finding love after loss, miscommunication, giving grace during misunderstandings.
Starring Karen Abercrombie as Elise, a once famous singer who left that world behind to raise her grandson, Derek (Jemarcus Kilgore), and Patrick (Leon Pridgen), as a widowed pastor. Both have closed the door on love, but with faith and a little help from friends (Charlene Tilton and Michael J. Patterson), will love blossom? When Derek decides it will help himself to gain independence he is sure the perfect solution for everyone is to secretly live-stream Grandma's new romance. What could go wrong?
MY REVIEW:Heaven Sentis a perfect "date night" or movie night with friends film to watch and simply enjoy. There is an underlying message about letting go of the past, but also a reminder that the important memories and people often fit in well during current and future chapters of life.
While there is some drama, it's mostly a fun movie to sit back with your popcorn, relax, and laugh at the antics. I will be watching this movie again! πΏπ₯€π¬π

Summary: When Matt Harrison arrives in Memphis in 1966 to advance his broadcast
career as a radio DJ, he finds himself inadvertently caught up in a web
of intrigue involving the conspiracy to assassinate Martin Luther King,
Jr.
Set against the backdrop of the civil rights movement and the rich
musical history of the Mississippi Delta.
MY REVIEW: "MEMPHIS" is one of the most mind-gripping books I have read in years. My plan of reading 50-60 pages per day was quickly discarded as I got more caught up in the story. While written as historical fiction, I recognized many names as I read. And the musicians mentioned definitely took me back in time. Whenever I would take a break from reading, I would do a search to refresh my memory or to learn more about the actual people; I even made a playlist of music to set the mood while I was reading. When you think of the city of Memphis, great BBQ and even greater music
come to mind, but this novel also reminds us there is a dark underbelly
of mistreatment and murder.
Hambrick is an excellent story-teller who makes both the fictionalized and the facts come to life. I went through a range of emotions while gripped by the plot. How much is true, and how much is speculation, I don't know, but all of it is plausible. Mike Hambrick is an award-winning broadcast journalist who started out on a small Texas radio station before becoming a rock n’ roll DJ in Memphis. That experience
is the basis of this novel. Hopefully, his next novel will not be far behind! I was 12 years old when Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated in 1968. While I do have memories of him and his assassination, they are old memories from a child's perspective. "Memphis" reminded me of a few things but, more importantly, gave me a deeper understanding of what was happening in America at that time. Progress and moving on is necessary, but it is important that we remember our past history as a nation and not repeat past mistakes and atrocities. I highly recommend this novel as a past reminder and impetus to do better. This
book NEEDS to become a movie. The soundtrack alone would be
outstanding! And this story needs to be told. I love a book (or film)
that makes me think or has an impact on how I view something. This had
all I wanted and more. BUY THE BOOK!
"The
Confession" tells the story of an Amish Family in turmoil when their
daughter, Katie Lapp, discovers she was adopted, and her biological mother is an Englisher (not
Amish) woman. Meanwhile, the woman, Laura Mayfield, heir to a vast
fortune and on her death bed, is searching for her lost daughter to
bequest her the estate. Standing between her is her gold-digging husband
Dylan (played by John Schneider), who is plotting to claim the fortune
for himself with the help of a hired imposter pretending to be the
long-lost daughter.
While
the story is dramatic, writer Martha Bolton sprinkles in humor, mostly
from award-winning comedian Chonda Pierce as the maid and
internationally renowned British comedian Colin Hearn as the English
Butler. The music is powerful under the direction of multiple Grammy-nominated Dan Posthuma and songwriter Wally Nason. And the screen is
filled with spectacular visuals using twenty actors and dancers and one
of the largest LED screens in the country. Be sure to check out the main cast on the website.
