Anti-Riot Petition

The recent riots on college campuses led by anti-Israel students...and non-student activists spread at an alarming rate. Confusion, violence, and threats, especially toward Jewish students, appear to be instigated by outside influences to groups who don't always appear to understand their "cause." There is more...

Complex Conflict: The situation in the Middle East is complex, with historical, religious, and geopolitical dimensions. It’s crucial to understand the multifaceted nature of the conflict and avoid oversimplification or one-sided narratives that ignore the broader context.

Address Root Causes: To achieve long-term peace, it’s necessary to address the root causes of the conflict, such as incitement to violence, terrorism, and the refusal to recognize Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state. Encouraging a shift towards education for coexistence and mutual respect is crucial for fostering lasting peace.

Combat Terrorism: Hamas, a designated terrorist organization, exploits
civilian areas in Gaza, using them as launch sites for rocket attacks on Israeli civilians. The international community must condemn terrorism in all its forms and hold accountable those who use violence against civilians for political gain.

Seeking Peace: Israel has repeatedly expressed its willingness to engage in dialogue and negotiate for a lasting peace with the Palestinians. However, achieving peace requires a genuine commitment from both sides to recognize each other’s right to exist and to engage in constructive negotiations without violence or terrorism.

Unfortunately our media slants news toward their own agenda rather than reporting facts, so check a variety of sources, including those in other countries. President Biden's view of the situation, including the campus riots, depends on his audience. As a Christian I was raised to love and support God's chosen people and I firmly believe that modern day Israel is their land.

Peace is the ultimate goal over hatred to others. Please sign the anti-rioting petition and support Israel today!

Carving through the heart of the Promised Land is the biblical spine of Israel, sometimes referred to as the Path of the Patriarchs and officially designated as Route 60. Running north to south, Route 60 connects ancient Israel with modern Israel, Jews and Christians with Muslims, and Israelis with Palestinians.

My Review: This guided tour through areas whose names are familiar to many of us because of Bible study help them come to life through the eyes of David Friedman and Mike Pompeo. I know I will never have the opportunity to go to Israel myself, so I deeply appreciated this film. It's a fascinating look at both modern Israel and the ancient places where Abraham, Jacob, King David, King Solomon, and Jesus lived.

Jesus Boat - Witness to Prophecy DVD

Jesus Boat - Witness To Prophecy synopsis: The astounding prophetic rebirth of Israel is told through the discovery of an ancient and unlikely artifact found under the shores of the Sea of Galilee. A first century fishing boat, identical to the boat Jesus sailed upon with his disciples, was destroyed in the years Israel was destroyed by the Romans, but found 2000 years later in a series of astonishing events that even scientists called a miracle. Mirroring Israel's own story of devastation and survival, the boat from the time of Jesus, would rise against all odds and float upon the Sea of Galilee once more as the oldest surviving freshwater boat in the world. Featuring commentary from some of the great theologians of our day including Franklin Graham, Joel Rosenberg, Jay Sekulow, Skip Heitzig, Chuck Smith and more. (back cover)

My Review: I don't remember hearing about the discovery of the boat, but the documentary did sound intriguing. The DVD is is better than I had hoped for, and one that I recommend to all believers and history buffs. Called the Jesus boat because it has been dated to the time when Jesus was on Earth, it was discovered by brothers, Moshe and Yuval Lufan, during a severe drought in the 1980s. This story alone, with the trials of carefully excavating the boat, various groups claiming ownership, and time factors that had to be considered, along with the tales of God's blessings and solutions to problems are fascinating on their own. But, I was completely absorbed in the realization of all of the prophecy fulfilled as Scripture was compared to historical events.
This DVD is one that historians (particularly of Jewish history) and those with an interest in archaeology...or even fishing, will enjoy. As a Christian, this documentary made the Bible come even more vividly to life.

Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this DVD from Elliot Wallach to review. I was not required to write a positive review.

Biblical Reproductions - Book of Enoch

I have written 2 posts about Biblical Reproductions: Products & Website, so I will not go over old details. Today's final post on the company is about the specific product I received to review. I confess that I expected them to send one of the less expensive products and was happily anticipating an ancient Hebrew oil lamp reproduction.

When the flat box arrived, I knew that there would be no oil lamp, but my curiosity level raised considerably! I carefully opened the package and saw that it was one of the Dead Sea Scroll reproductions. Okay, there were several that I saw that had special meaning to me, so I eagerly looked to find I had received a portion of the Book of...Enoch. ENOCH??!!?? I knew who Enoch was, of course, but I was 100% certain I had never read that book in MY Bible.

As I stared at the Certificate of Authenticity approved by the Israeli Antiquities Authority, I was also trying to gather scraps of memory that were beginning to surface, calling my son (who I was certain would have some knowledge), and quickly doing a Google search (yes, I am a multi-tasker!) As I begin to read (and hear) stories of WatchersNephilim, and fallen angels, I did vaguely remember a few stories from a childhood Sunday School class and a couple of books I had read long ago, but I still wondered why I had received this particular parchment.

Then, I realized that a theme of many conversations I have about movies and books is that they are excellent conversation starters about Christianity and sharing your belief system. I also love those that make me think and want to go more indepth. Even if something is a bit controversial, I tend to be more on the side of finding out what it is about: the negatives, the positives, and why I believe what I do. So, what could be more perfect for me to receive but The Book of Enoch.

Although I am not a huge fan of many of the documentaries found on the History Channel, I did find this link that is a bit more descriptive than anything I have space to tell...

I also came across several posts of interest on the Biblical Reproductions website under Blog: Enoch. Son of Cain, Part 1Enoch, Whom God Took Away, Part 2, and Enoch, Hero of Jewish Literature, Part 3. I did find out that the reproduction I have is from Chapter 6, and that it is unique because until the discovery of the Dead Sea scrolls, the Book of Enoch was only preserved in Ethiopic and Greek. This is the only known copy of Book of Enoch in Aramaic. For more info about this particular piece, read the production description for The Enoch Scroll.

Biblical Reproductions - The Website

Last week I talked about the products available from Biblical Reproductions, and this week I am reviewing the website. Located at www.biblicalreproductions.com, it opens to a slide show of some of their featured products, but I was even more impressed with the easy access to other sources. Whether you want to read articles written about them or want to click on the sections that are lined up across the top, each brings you a wealth of information.

The Shop is divided into categories including scrolls, pottery, and unique discoveries. I loved an added benefit to just looking at prices and photos, though. Say you were intrigued by the photo of the miniature Dead Sea Scrolls jar. When you click on the photo, you get a more indepth description of the product, but also more historical detail of the original. I loved learning more about each product that is available.

For history buffs, the blog is another great source of information. With topics ranging from Qumran to Masada to Pontius Pilate and more, you are given a deeper understanding and background of certain pieces associated with history. There is also a Q&A for any questions you may have concerning the reproductions.

Another section I found of interest was one entitled Raise Funds. If there is a way they can help you use their products as a fund-raiser, you can contact them. It is good to know that this is a company that not only wants to shed light on the antiquities and Biblical history, but also want to shine light on present day needs that need help. I think that is why one of my favorite pieces is their replica oil lamps.

Biblical Reproductions - Products

Several days ago I was really excited to find out that I had been selected as one of the bloggers who gets to review a product from a company called Biblical Reproductions. Founded in 2011 by Alex Ingelman, Biblical Reproductions was created to provide high quality reproductions of treasures for your home or church. Biblical Reproduction Inc. has the exclusive North American rights for reproduction of artifacts granted by Israel’s Antiquities Authority and they come with a Certificate of Authorization.
Temple Court Inscription
Biblical Antiquities Reproduction Group, Inc., is based in both Toronto, Canada and Jerusalem, Israel.  Igelman has a strong passion for the Bible, History and the Holy Land and wanted to share some of the treasures to be found with the general public. Of course, the actual artifacts cannot be sold, but

The Genesis Scroll

Just imagine having a reproduction of one of the Dead Sea Scrolls! The Genesis scroll (pictured left) contains 11 lines of text: Genesis 1:18-27. Or the Temple Court Inscription  that dates back to the 1st century BC! Though fragmented, the Temple Courts Inscription itself can be reconstructed to read:
“No foreigner is to enter the barriers surrounding the sanctuary. He who is caught will have himself to blame for his death which will follow.”
The scroll fragments, pottery, and other items they have for sale are not only great as teaching tools, but are also part of our own historical and religious heritage. I especially loved the oil lamps I saw pictured. They have both 1st century and 4th century reproductions. Such a simple household item, but they send my imagination flying into overdrive!
