Just One More review

JUST ONE MORE (2026) follows Jess (Emma Filley), a recovering addict struggling with shame, doubt, and the weight of her past, whose life unexpectedly collides with Charles (Lance E Nichols), a dying man praying that God would use him “just one more” time. As their stories intertwine, Jess begins to discover forgiveness, healing, and the hope to fight for a future beyond addiction.

This is an emotional, character-driven story about redemption, perseverance, and the life-changing impact one person can have on another. At its heart, Just One More is about choosing hope one more time, even when life feels impossible.

This is the kind of movie that stays with audiences long after the credits roll, leaving them encouraged, reflective, and inspired. Directed by Kaleb Michael Cook and Kyler David Cook, other actors include Christian McCartney (Xavier), Lily Brody (Raya) and Todd Terry as Dr. Henley.

KEY THEMES:

*Redemption - Nobody is beyond another chance.

*Perseverance - Strength is often found in refusing to quit.

*Hope - Even in difficult seasons, there's a reason to keep going.

*Family & Relationships - Healing, reconciliation, and the people who stand beside us matter.

MY REVIEW: "Just One More" is more than just a film about addiction; it is a film about hope, encouragement, and getting another chance when you stumble. Surrounded by people who care about you, even when you are not always loveable, can be a major impact on a person trying to break free. I loved the character of Charles, a man nearing the end of his life, but still desiring to reach others for Christ. Simply sitting on his lawn with a sign asking people to stop and pray was all he had left to do, but he was making a difference. The additions of Xavier and Raya brought peers for Jess to lean on and examples of love for others with their relationship with Charles. The continuing struggles were realistic, as was the hope for the future by the end. It is a movie worth watching.
