Carving through the heart of the Promised Land is the biblical spine of
Israel, sometimes referred to as the Path of the Patriarchs and
officially designated as Route 60. A highway of deep historical
significance while often the scene of unrest and violence, this 146-mile
road of asphalt and concrete begins in Nazareth, Israel’s largest Arab
city, and ends in Beersheba, one of Israel’s high-tech centers. Running
north to south, Route 60 connects ancient Israel with modern Israel,
Jews and Christians with Muslims, and Israelis with Palestinians. This trek is far more than a two-lane highway; it is a historic, sacred
link to the roots of Judaism and Christianity and the stories of the Old
and New Testaments.
Follow world-changing diplomats David Friedman and
Mike Pompeo as they venture down this sacred road, treading the very
ground Abraham, Jacob, King David, and Jesus once walked. Discover the
history, witness the healing, and realize the hope along Route 60, the
Biblical Highway.
David Friedman served as the U.S. Ambassador to Israel under President
Donald Trump. A Nobel Prize nominee and National Security Medal
recipient for his efforts in helping secure the historic Abraham
Accords, he is the bestselling author of Sledgehammer: How Breaking with the Past Brought Peace to the Middle East.
Mike Pompeo served as both U.S. Secretary of State and Director of the
Central Intelligence Agency under President Donald Trump and as a
four-term U.S. Representative for the Fourth District of Kansas. He is
the author of the New York Times bestseller Never Give an Inch: Fighting for the America I Love.
Sound of Freedom, based on the incredible true story of Tim Ballard, shines a light on even the darkest of places. After rescuing a young boy from ruthless child traffickers, a federal agent learns the boy’s sister is still captive and decides to embark on a dangerous mission to save her. With time running out, he quits his job and journeys deep into the Colombian jungle, putting his life on the line to free her from a fate worse than death.
Angel Studio’s goal for "Sound of Freedom" is for two million people to go see the film in theaters the week of July 4 to remember the two million children who are trafficked every year. You can find showtimes at Angel.com/tickets. You can help pay for other people's tickets to come to the film at angel.com/freedom#2MillionFor2Million If you can't afford a ticket, get a FREE TICKET!
My Review: "Sound of Freedom" is a MUST SEE film, & the week our nation is celebrating Independence is a perfect time to be reminded that there are captives, including very young children, who need our help. Starring Jim Caviezel as Tim Ballard, the story focuses on the beginnings of "Operation Underground Railroad" and the rescue of two children.
It is a hard film to watch due to subject matter, but one that must be brought to the attention of caring people. I remember reading about Tim Ballard and his organization several years ago, but the movie brings it to life. Alejandro Monteverde's directing is amazing, and he also co-wrote the story with Rod Barr. Eduardo Verástegui produces and has the role of Paul, Bill Camp is Vampiro, and Mira Sorvino plays Mrs. Ballard. The rest of the international cast and crew can be proud of their work and contribution to such an impactful film.
Do NOT bring young children to this movie, and parents should decide the maturity level of tweens and teens. I believe teenagers should see the movie to understand the dangers of sex slavery, but they need adults (parents or leaders) to discuss it. Nothing graphic is shown but the subject matter is horrifying. Shining light into the darkness is a major step in helping to end child trafficking. We can't all personally rescue children, but we can donate financially to groups who do and pray.

Featuring: Karen Abercrombie, Demond Wilson, Cameron Arnett, T.C.
Stallings, Lori Schultze, Wesley Williams, Rebecca Rogers, Durrel
Nelson, Kamillah Matthews, Caleb J. Avery, and Scotty Curlee.
My Review: Episode 1 begins with Eleanor (Karen Abercrombie) returning to visit her father (Demond Wilson) on the first anniversary of her mom's death. Eleanor’s comfortable reality crashes around her when she realizes her father’s health is failing and she sees history repeating itself in her old neighborhood involving a family she once had close ties to. She determines to have the case heard in her courtroom to help make up for not following up a past commitment. As with most series, the first episode involves introducing the main characters and giving a general idea of the series. This one pulled me in with some familiar faces (including Cameron Arnett and Scotty Curlee) and an intriguing story involving the juvenile court system and foster care.

“God’s Country Song” is a multi-generational story about faith, fatherhood and forgiveness. Noah has always resented his father for not supporting his dreams of fame and fortune, but when he learns how his father gave up his own ambitions to serve God and his family, he learns a valuable lesson.
Just in time for Father's Day 2023, God's Country Song has come to Pure Flix!Noah is a country music star on the rise. Living life in the fast lane, he’s focused on his music, drinking and fame. Estranged from his own father, Noah thinks only of himself until he discovers that he is the father of a young son and has no place to go but home. Watch this film of 2nd chances to reconnect with both family and faith:God's Country Song.
My Review: I enjoyed the film. It's a familiar story of a young man, leaving his home to chase his dreams and getting caught up in the party life...until his past catches him. Returning to his parent's farm provided a safe haven for his son, there was more growing up to do before Noah realizes that strengthening his roots with his family and God is his first priority. Toss in a cute little boy, a supportive love interest, and good music and this is a satisfying story to enjoy.
There is drinking and a bar fight brawl, so this may not be a great choice for younger children, but it's good for middle-school ages and up. Excellent actors involved. I think Larry (the manager) is a wonderful character (and an actor whose work I enjoy).

Kelsey is running from failure, heartbreak and humiliation. In an attempt to understand God’s purpose for her life, she goes to Taiwan to teach English. Will her leap of faith pay off? "Sun Moon" is a beautiful story about discovering joy and purpose despite cultural differences and difficulties.
See the trailer:
MY REVIEW: Sun Moonopens with Kelsey (MacKenzie Mauzy) lying in a bathtub, dressed in her bridal gown. After being jilted at the altar, she's sad, confused, and unsure what to do next. Her next step is to impulsively accept a temporary job teaching English at a private school---in Taiwan.
I have always loved "fish out of water" stories that are rich in humor and that lead to a greater understanding that we often have more in common than we think. There are some serious moments with relating to students and culture, but also laughter and romance
as Kelsey begins a journey of discovery both with her students and with fellow employee Horace (Justin Chien). As they learn more about each other, they both become aware that God can help you through the grief of losses and even use the anger, pain, and sorrow to make you stronger, more trusting of Him, and lead you to unexpected joy despite circumstances. God doesn't always do what we expect, but He can always be trusted!
Based on some of her personal experiences writer/director Sydney Tooley can be proud of making a film that can be enjoyed by all. Check out her interview with MIN's Jean Thomason:
CAST: MacKenzie Mauzy, Kelsey Justin Chien, Horace Madison McLaughlin, Liz Michael Jong-Quin Huang, Principal Jason Burkey, Braden Leanne Morgan, Maida
