Viewers from the “Doonby” premiere commented after about the movie saying, “
The ending was a surprise with a message that still inhabits my thoughts and searches for an answer as to 'What If?' and 'What can I do?'”

Another attendee said,
It was an excellent movie with an important point… that God does not make nobodies.”

“Doonby is a thought provoking movie that encompasses the human spirit. It has adventure, mystery, drama and above all, true heart! I left the theater with a whole new appreciation and view on life,” said another premiere goer.

"Jenn's protrayal of Laura Reaper was especially compelling; she takes you on this roller coaster of emotions, complete with the drop in your stomach when you realize what all the story threads add up to! And you just go: "Wow!" The audience fell in love with her all over again as Jenn gracefully fielded deep, tough questions and inspired us with her passion for telling life-changing stories on screen,” says “In His Step” lead actress Rebekah Cook who also plays in “Christmas Grace” and worked with Gotzon in 3 movies.

NYC Acting Schoolmates Robbie Lavine and Jenn Gotzon
“Watching Jenn's character evolve throughout the story was riveting. Knowing her since we were young and roommates in NYC attending The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts made me feel a sense of pride. There was a deeper meaning to this story that really makes you think how important every soul is on this earth. The cast portrayed it brilliantly Amazing!!!" explained actress Robbie Lavine who teaches acting locally in Michigan and bi-coastal in Los Angeles and NYC.

Event hosts were Ginger Beggs and Rebecca Huey Krupp from Michigan. Rebecca and Gotzon met during the summer program at The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts in ’98 and have stayed in touch through facebook. Rebecca is currently involved with Motion Pictures in Michigan. Mandi Toan assisted as Jenn’s event & production coordinator.

Radio host Ginger Beggs had this to say about the movie: “Never before has a film reached my soul without being invasive or offensive. “Doonby” captures your heart and mind from the beginning, showing the effects of light and dark in our world and how one life can cause a ripple in those effects. From loveable and also dark characters to the amazing twist ending, I was completely captured. If you leave the film without asking questions, then my advice is to watch it again. Provocative, thought-provoking, endearing, emotional and thrilling ride!" - Ginger Beggs, Host/Producer "TheOverdrive Show" on

Friday, November 1st, started out as being a day of incredible excitement for talented actress Jenn Gotzon. She had not one, but TWO films with theatrical premiers. Doonby is the story of a handsome drifter (John Schneider) who gets off a bus in a small Texas town and captures the interest of Laura Reaper (Gotzon). The moral of the story is that "every nobody is somebody'. Her plans were to fly to New Orleans to meet with a group of students who had seen Doonby to discuss the film and to inspire them. The planned session with high school students, who had been impacted by Hurricane Katrina, are no strangers to adversity, and Jenn planned on speaking to them about how each life does make a difference and on overcoming obstacles.

Instead, as she was at the air port, her life took a turn that seemed more in line with her other film that was being released, Dragon Day. This film is about a family getaway to a mountain town turning deadly when China launches a massive cyberattack against the USA. But the real life terror was a gunman killing a TSA agent and wounding several others. LAX was closed for several hours, leaving Jenn Gotzon stranded on the curbside with thousands of other travelers.

It was a frightening and frustrating experience for all, and the victims and their loved ones are certainly in our prayers.

Jenn also made a short video update of what was going on and her attempts to get to New Orleans so she won't disappoint the kids who are waiting to talk with her.

Jenn Brings DOONBY To DC

Jenn Gotzon & John Schneider on set of Doonby
Jenn Gotzon (Frost/Nixon, I Am Gabriel, Alone yet Not Alone) has been busily involved in scheduling screenings of the pro-life film  Doonby  during the "March For Life" events scheduled this week in the nation's capital. The free film showings will be held on Jan. 24th at 7pm at Landmark E Street Cinema, 555 11th Street NW and the 4pm showing on Jan. 25th will be at the (Marriot) Residence Inn, 333 E Street SW, Washington, DC.

RISING STAR ACTRESS JENN GOTZON GOES FROM SMALL ROLE IN 'FROST/NIXON' ON CAPITOL HILL TO LEADING LADY IN 'DOONBY' SCREENINGS IN NATION'S CAPITAL

WASHINGTON DC (Jan. 23, 2013) – Actress Jenn Gotzon, whose career broke after portraying President Nixon’s First Daughter Tricia Nixon in a small role in 2009 Academy Award Nominated Best Film “Frost/Nixon,” is set to grace the real Nation’s Capital, a four-year President’s term later, screening the first of her seven films she stars in to release 2013, “Doonby.”
Cast as the love interest opp. “The Dukes of Hazzard” heartthrob John Schneider in the British writer/director Peter Mackenzie film, Gotzon plays the wild leading lady, who’s both smitten with and suspicious of the chivalry, heroism and seeming omnipresence of her town’s newest resident, Sam Doonby.

Both free film showings are sponsored by NET TV, a new television station broadcasting uplifting movies through Verizon Fios Video on Demand in over 18 cities nationwide. “Doonby” actors Jenn Gotzon and Joe Estevez (host of NET TV’s Faith Film Festival) will be in attendance along with film’s director Peter Mackenzie and associate producer Steve Doherty.

Sam Doonby, a mysterious, handsome drifter gets off a Greyhound bus in a small Texas town and finds work at Leroy’s Country/Blues Bar where his great musical talents make him very popular, especially with Laura, the beautiful but spoiled daughter of successful doctor Cyrus Reaper. Sam always seems to be in the right place at the right time to avert disasters befalling the town and its people until suspicion and jealousy drive folks to ask who he is and where he comes from. Even Laura starts to question him and then he disappears as quickly as he came and things start to go terribly wrong. His rejection results in a series of shocks for the whole town, and especially for the town's doctor as Cyrus’ past comes back to haunt him. Starring John Schneider, Jenn Gotzon, Robert Davi, Joe Estevez, Will Wallace, Jennifer O'Neill, Ernie Hudson...Doonby also introduces the acting debut of Norma McCorvey (alias Jane Roe in Roe vs. Wade) of the Supreme Court Decision legalizing abortion.
