He Calls Me Daughter

HE CALLS ME DAUGHTER is for women who have felt unseen, unsupported, or unsure of their worth. Through intimate, first-person stories, viewers follow women as they begin to name the pain they’ve carried for years: father wound.

From the award-winning director of the Kendrick Brothers’ documentary Show Me the Father, He Calls Me Daughter is a poignant exploration of father-daughter relationships and the lasting impact they have on a woman’s life. Through honest stories and thoughtful insight, the film examines the deep “father wound” many women carry. He Calls Me Daughter reveals how faith in Jesus Christ brings healing, transforms lives and restores identity. A Heavenly Father changes everything!

Au
diences are invited to reflect on their own story as they walk alongside these women on a journey toward healing. HE CALLS ME DAUGHTER is an invitation to experience the love of a Father who does not withdraw—One who offers peace, belonging, and restoration.

True healing isn’t found in earthly relationships, but a relationship with our Heavenly Father changes everything.

REVIEW: I have been a fan of Rick Altizer's previous documentaries, and my expectations were fully met with "He Calls Me Daughter." Chonda Pierce (Comedian), BJ Arnett (Actress), Meg Meeker (pediatrician/author), Lynsi Snyder (In N Out President), and other women share their stories of "father wounds" in their lives and the healing journey to God as their father. Each one had a different relationship with their earthly father, but their reactions to the emotional pain also impacted how they reacted to others in their lives. Alex Kendrick also spoke on the importance of how he treats his daughters.

This is a wonderful film for both men and women, not only for helping women heal from the wounds inflicted by fathers, but also to help men realize how important they are in raising children. I have never known a child who did want love and approval from both parents, but men are too often considered to be less important.

He Calls Me Daughter is only scheduled to be in theaters March 17th and March 18th, so be sure you reserve your seats now!
