Carving through the heart of the Promised Land is the biblical spine of
Israel, sometimes referred to as the Path of the Patriarchs and
officially designated as Route 60. A highway of deep historical
significance while often the scene of unrest and violence, this 146-mile
road of asphalt and concrete begins in Nazareth, Israel’s largest Arab
city, and ends in Beersheba, one of Israel’s high-tech centers. Running
north to south, Route 60 connects ancient Israel with modern Israel,
Jews and Christians with Muslims, and Israelis with Palestinians. This trek is far more than a two-lane highway; it is a historic, sacred
link to the roots of Judaism and Christianity and the stories of the Old
and New Testaments.
Follow world-changing diplomats David Friedman and
Mike Pompeo as they venture down this sacred road, treading the very
ground Abraham, Jacob, King David, and Jesus once walked. Discover the
history, witness the healing, and realize the hope along Route 60, the
Biblical Highway.
David Friedman served as the U.S. Ambassador to Israel under President
Donald Trump. A Nobel Prize nominee and National Security Medal
recipient for his efforts in helping secure the historic Abraham
Accords, he is the bestselling author of Sledgehammer: How Breaking with the Past Brought Peace to the Middle East.
Mike Pompeo served as both U.S. Secretary of State and Director of the
Central Intelligence Agency under President Donald Trump and as a
four-term U.S. Representative for the Fourth District of Kansas. He is
the author of the New York Times bestseller Never Give an Inch: Fighting for the America I Love.
Sound of Freedom, based on the incredible true story of Tim Ballard, shines a light on even the darkest of places. After rescuing a young boy from ruthless child traffickers, a federal agent learns the boy’s sister is still captive and decides to embark on a dangerous mission to save her. With time running out, he quits his job and journeys deep into the Colombian jungle, putting his life on the line to free her from a fate worse than death.
Angel Studio’s goal for "Sound of Freedom" is for two million people to go see the film in theaters the week of July 4 to remember the two million children who are trafficked every year. You can find showtimes at Angel.com/tickets. You can help pay for other people's tickets to come to the film at angel.com/freedom#2MillionFor2Million If you can't afford a ticket, get a FREE TICKET!
My Review: "Sound of Freedom" is a MUST SEE film, & the week our nation is celebrating Independence is a perfect time to be reminded that there are captives, including very young children, who need our help. Starring Jim Caviezel as Tim Ballard, the story focuses on the beginnings of "Operation Underground Railroad" and the rescue of two children.
It is a hard film to watch due to subject matter, but one that must be brought to the attention of caring people. I remember reading about Tim Ballard and his organization several years ago, but the movie brings it to life. Alejandro Monteverde's directing is amazing, and he also co-wrote the story with Rod Barr. Eduardo Verástegui produces and has the role of Paul, Bill Camp is Vampiro, and Mira Sorvino plays Mrs. Ballard. The rest of the international cast and crew can be proud of their work and contribution to such an impactful film.
Do NOT bring young children to this movie, and parents should decide the maturity level of tweens and teens. I believe teenagers should see the movie to understand the dangers of sex slavery, but they need adults (parents or leaders) to discuss it. Nothing graphic is shown but the subject matter is horrifying. Shining light into the darkness is a major step in helping to end child trafficking. We can't all personally rescue children, but we can donate financially to groups who do and pray.
