She's Got Issues by Nicole Unice

In She's Got Issues, counselor and mom Nicole Unice takes a look at five (and a half) common issues:  control, insecurity, comparison, fear, and anger (along with its cousin, unforgiveness). She says that all women struggle with at least one of these problems and some of us deal with more than one of them. I know I have them all, although some are not as big of a deal as others. I enjoyed the way she has a couple of chapters to dig more indepth with each category, and that she includes quizzes and other personal assessment tools. Some of the personal stories made me chuckle, and a few made me cringe...when I recognized my own behavior.

There is a dvd group experience that goes along with the book to make this an excellent small group Ladies Bible Study. I also found a Participation Guide online. So with these tools, along with your Bible, a journal, and a pen...you are all set up to begin to confront the issues that are holding you back in your relationship with God, others, and with yourself. Naturally, she doesn't promise that we will resolve all, or become little robots (no visions of becoming like The Stepford Wives, please), but Nicole does help you discover renovate and refine the person you are.

In compliance with the Federal Trade Commission, I want to say that I received complimentary copies of the materials used for this review from Tyndale House Publishers. I was not required to make a favorable review, but only asked for my opinion.
